Why start this blog?

So, you may ask, why start this blog?

I'm starting this to capture my musings from a Californian's point of view in moving to Virginia.  I lived here for 2 years 13 years ago.  There were many reasons why I left.  There are reasons why we moved back to Virginia from my home state of California (mainly because my husband and he is from Virginia).  I've preached and praised the virtues and wonderful goodness of California to all who would hear.  But, I've been fair too in recognizing the negatives like how expensive it is and how hippy it can be.

At any rate, at risk of insulting my fellow Californians (who shouldn't be because I'm one of them, you foos) and at risk of insulting my neighbor Virginians which I think is inevitable, I'm writing up my experiences here in this state of Virginia, specifically in the Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania region.  It might be beneficial to those who would like to move here from the SF Bay Area (East Bay/South Bay specifically), and/or it might provide a good chuckle now and then.  Death threats though can be sent to my mother-in-law.
